We wish you all a wonderful Christmas and New Year holiday and we hope you are able to spend this time of the year with friends and family. After a hectic time for most of us in December, we hope you can relax over the next days.
The last weeks were honestly not the easiest in our little Elma studio. We are still in the middle of publishing our new Aino theme and block project and everything moves along a bit slower as we hoped. We will write an update blog post in regard to Aino over the next days.
We are also in the middle of moving (we are not leaving New Zealand, just moving within the country). Therefore we spend Christmas around boxes, packing and cleaning along. You know how that looks…
New projects in 2020
But we are super motivated for the new year. I think the first year since the Gutenberg project release was a quite difficult year in the WordPress community. Lots of chances and unpredictability, but I feel that WordPress is on a good path and we are excited for the new possibilities that will be available for users, designers and developers alike.
Speaking of changes, we are also working on an entirely new platform for our Aino project, which we will release shortly. We worked hard on a concept to further support our theme users and make it easier in general to create your own WordPress website in 2020. I’m very excited to share more details with you soon.
Supporting our existing themes
We listened to your feedback over the last weeks and we take your critic and suggestions very seriously. It’s true that we are not happy that new theme updates for our existing themes were very slow this year. We are very sorry for any caused disappointments and we are working on a solution to optimise support for our existing themes in the future.
It’s a balancing act to maintain our existing themes but at the same time not miss but rather take advantage of new developments in the Gutenberg WordPress era. We are working on a better balance and we are determined to improve our work in this regard. We will also work on clear and more frequent communication with all of you.
We hope you are as excited as we are to see what we have been working on over the last months.
